A quiet stretch of beach on Caye Caulker
Colinda Cabanas sits directly on the eastern seafront, located a little south of the village centre, where the beach is quieter and the reef is close enough to see from your patio. Fourteen suites, rooms and cabanas, a private dock, and a stretch of private beachfront that rarely feels crowded.
A Little History, A Lot of Heart
Colinda Cabanas has been welcoming guests to Caye Caulker for years, originally founded and operated by Canadians Colin and Linda, the namesakes behind "Colinda's." In September 2019, Kari, also from Canada, purchased the property and made Caye Caulker home.
Since then, Kari and her team have worked to preserve the Caribbean charm, relaxed atmosphere, and exceptional guest service that Colin and Linda built their reputation on, while continuing to thoughtfully update the rooms, comforts, amenities and experiences for today's travellers.
In 2023, Kari and her team added Coconut Jungle Café, run by Kari's daughter, Shae. It has quickly become a favourite gathering spot for guests to enjoy their morning coffee, have a chat, and get the inside scoop on the best places to eat, explore and experience the island.
And while the property has evolved, one thing has remained remarkably consistent: the people. Our management and many members of our team have been part of Colinda Cabanas for years, including Emelita, Emory, Ayeisha, Roxanne and Mr. Antonio. They know our guests, they know the island, and they genuinely care about making every stay special.
We are incredibly grateful for that. Exceptional, personal service is at the heart of what we do, and it is something we take great pride in every single day. It's also what brings so many of our guests back to Colinda Cabanas, year after year.

Far Enough Away, Close Enough to Everything
Guests tell us the location is the thing they didn't expect to love. You're removed from the noise of the main strip, but the island's restaurants, bars, and tour operators are a short bike ride away, and every room comes with two bicycles. It's the kind of place where you can spend the whole morning on the dock and still make it out for dinner and live music, but always return to your tranquil haven for a restful sleep.
Go Slow Is the Whole Point
Caye Caulker's unofficial motto is painted on signs all over the island, and it isn't a marketing line. There are no cars, the streets are sand, and nothing here runs on a schedule. We built the property around that. Hammocks over TVs, coffee on the patio over a rushed breakfast buffet, and staff who would rather help you plan a snorkel trip than check you in quickly.
The Part We're Most Proud Of
Look through our reviews and the same thing comes up again and again, and it isn't the beach. It's the people. Our team knows the island, knows the boat captains and the good food spots, and genuinely wants to help you have the best experience of our island. That reputation took years to build, and it's the reason most of our guests come back!
